Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation unveil the Satish and Yasmin Gupta Heart Center in Plano, Texas

On a mission to improve lives all over the world, the founders of SB International, Inc. and the Gupta Agarwal Charitable Foundation have made a $5 million gift that will help to fund research and education related to cardiac conditions. Satish and Yasmin Gupta have a deep commitment to improving access to knowledge and education that will help change lives. SB Hall, the new centerpiece of the University of Dallas’s business school, is unveiled with high acclaim at a ribbon cutting ceremony at the University of Dallas

SB Hall, the new state-of-the-art home of the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business, opened on schedule and under budget according to university president, Tom Keefe.  The ribbon cutting ceremony, which was held Friday January 15, 2016, marked the opening of the $16 million, 45,000 sq ft academic building and began an important new chapter in the university’s history.  The new structure, SB Hall, was funded by the generous $12 million gift made by SB International and its owners, Satish Gupta MBA ‘81 and Yasmin Gupta MBA ‘82.  The donation is the single largest in the 60-year history of the University of Dallas.  SB Hall, situated amidst the university’s 222 acre campus, stands on the highest point in Dallas County and overlooks the interchange of State Highways 114 and 183.  SB Hall is the centerpiece of the University of Dallas’ business program which is renowned nationally and internationally and is among the few business schools holding AACSB accreditation. The ribbon cutting was covered by media locally as well as internationally.  During ceremony speeches, Satish Gupta and Yasmin Gupta reflected about starting SB International while still students at the University of Dallas with the help and guidance of faculty and administration.  Mr. Gupta announced, “We are honored to help the University of Dallas empower tomorrow’s leaders to improve their communities all around the world.”  Click here for more photographs from the event.

SB Hall begins to take shape on the campus of the University of Dallas

SB Hall, the future home of the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business, commenced construction in October 2014.  The donation made by SB International and its principals, Satish Gupta MBA ’81 and Yasmin Gupta MBA ’82, along with close collaboration with the University of Dallas has given rise to the vision that is SB Hall and the recently renamed college of business itself.  Excitement builds as the prestigiously AACSB accredited school awaits the premier facility in which to propagate its global mission.  For more chronicled photos, click here.

     

His Holiness, the Dalai Lama visits with Satish Gupta, President & CEO, company executives, board members, and distinguished guests

On July 3, 2015, His Holiness, the Dalai Lama graced the presence of SBI executives, board members, and other distinguished guests at a private meeting held at the Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek. The assembly included discussions of cultural awareness and the contributions and community leadership of the DFW Indian Cultural Society. The meeting followed the Dalai Lama’s visit to Dallas on July 2, 2015 as part of a forum at the George W. Bush Presidential Center at Southern Methodist University where His Holiness delivered an endearing message about the need to go forward in life with vision, self-discipline, tolerance, and with love as a goal.

SBI executives and the University of Dallas break ground on SB Hall

The University of Dallas hosted a ceremony to officially break ground on the new home for the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business.  The 45,000+ square foot building, to be named SB Hall, will have state-of-the-art technology and facilities to house the prestigious business school which is accredited by AACSB International, a commendation achieved by less than 5% of colleges offering business degrees worldwide.  SB International executives, Satish Gupta MBA ’81 and Yasmin Gupta MBA ’82, joined University of Dallas leadership and the Mayor of Irving, Beth Van Duyne, in commemorating the groundbreaking.  For more information on the University of Dallas, go to www.udallas.edu/cob or view the official Press Release.

     

UT Southwestern Medical Center receives $500,000 donation from SB International executives

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center announced, at a reception held at the TBoone Pickens Biomedical Building on May 19, 2014, that SB International executives, and Dallas philanthropists, Satish Gupta and Yasmin Gupta donated $500,000 to support diabetes research at UT Southwestern Medical Center under the direction of Dr. Abhimanyu Garg, Chief of the Division of Nutrition and Metabolic Diseases. The gift will support Dr. Garg’s novel genetic research on type 2 diabetes in Asian Indians; a demographic group that is predisposed to early onset of the disease for reasons unknown. A study of up to 300 patients in the U.S. will be initiated, aimed at pinpointing the underlying basis for increased diabetes prevalence in this group.  For more information about UT Southwestern Medical Center, go to www.utsouthwestern.edu.

     

The University of Dallas announces the naming of the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business

Satish Gupta, President & CEO, and Yasmin Gupta, Executive Vice President of SB International, joined University of Dallas officials Thomas Keefe, President, and Dr. Robert Scherer, Dean of the business program, at a press conference announcing the largest donation in the university’s history.   The endowment will fund the building of a new estimated 50,000 sq ft state of the art facility on the campus of the university.  The Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business structure, to be named SB Hall, will sit on the highest point in Dallas County and is expected to be completed in time for the 2015 fall semester.  Among the many media outlets covering the announcement were The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Business Journal, KERA News, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, NBC 5 News, and CBS DFW.  For more information on the University of Dallas Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business, please go to www.udallas.edu/news.

           

SBI executives, Satish Gupta and Yasmin Gupta, agree to fund a new building for the College of Business at the University of Dallas

In 1981, Satish Gupta graduated with MBA in International Trade and Management from the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management.   Since that time, Satish Gupta and Yasmin Gupta, both MBA alumni of the University of Dallas, have supported the educational endeavors of the university.  On July 18, 2013, Mr. Gupta and his company, SB International, formally agreed to support the College of Business through an endowment which will provide a new building for the College of Business and Graduate School of Management.  A formal press conference will release the details of this historic gift.

 

The University of Dallas ranks second U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 rankings for the nation’s best colleges

SB International sponsors the University of Dallas College of Business MBA Capstone project for a second consecutive year

For a second consecutive year, SB International partnered with the University of Dallas Graduate School of Management to sponsor the MBA capstone research project for the summer semester. The project involved a comprehensive inspection into the complex relationship, and often dichotomy, between politics and economics as it pertains to energy policy.  Capstone students analyzed domestic and foreign forces and forecasted future financial data and the timeline for the United States to export liquefied natural gas (LNG).  The class of cross-disciplinary concentrations honed in on the most prolific predictors for the future of LNG export and provided an inclusive final report to SB International executives.
